Living expenses are rising by the day, and working families need relief. To make paying the bills more manageable, I supported a budget that will provide working families on average $600 in direct tax relief this fall. This includes suspending the gas tax, eliminate the state’s sales tax on groceries, doubling the property tax rebate for homeowners, and providing stimulus checks of up to $400 f0r a family of five.
Tax Holiday
Back to school shopping is expensive and is something most parents cannot avoid. To reduce the overall cost for our families with school age children, I voted to pass a tax holiday during back to school shopping that includes clothes and school supplies. Parents and educators who pay for their own classroom supplies shouldn’t have an additional burden this back to school season. This year’s tax holiday is from August August 5th -August 14th.
